Switzerland, DSI provide toilets for Lagos school

The Development Support Institute in partnership with Switzerland has provided 10 toilet facilities to the pupils and members of staff of Anglican Primary School , Ayobo - Ipaja , Lagos .
The facilities were inaugurated on Wednesday by the Consul - General, Embassy of Switzerland , Mr . Yves Nicolet .
Nicolet , in his address, noted that the project was done to improve the life of pupils and teachers of the school , adding that the conditions of learning have to be improved upon .
Nicolet said the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation was opened to improve the relationship between Nigeria and Switzerland .
“ This is a small action which will improve the daily life of the pupils and teachers . The building of these toilets was a priority besides any other project .
“ For children to go to school , they have to be encouraged to do so ; there should be a need for them to want to go there, and the conditions of education have to be perfect .
“ The Consulate- General was opened to increase and improve the economic bilateral relations between Nigeria and Switzerland .
“ I will also try to develop other kinds of activities which would help the excellent relations which already existed between our two countries , ” Nicolet said.
Also speaking at the inauguration, the Director of Project, DSI , Mrs. Yemi Odiadi, said that the NGO was open to any partnership that would address the infrastructural and training gaps in the education sector in Nigeria.
She , however , noted that the organisation wanted to renovate the existing facilities but the engineers said the structure was weak and unsafe .
Odiadi appreciated the Switzerland envoy for approving the project and making it a reality.
