Anxious Liberians are waiting on wings to know the outcome of the election in which they voted for former FIFA World footballer of the year 1995, Sent. George Oppong Weah.
On Tuesday this week, Liberians went to polls to elect one the President that will replace the outgoing President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
Out of the 15 counties in the country, it is speculated that George Weah is leading in 13 of them.
Both Weah and Boakai with their supporters are laying claims to the victory.
Whoever that wins, will become the 25th President of the small West African country.
The person will take over from Ellen Sirleaf who has ruled for 12 years. Liberia was founded in 1847 by freed American slaves.Apart from Sirleaf, other past recent leaders plunged the country into deep crisis that led to an 8 year civil war. Liberia's  National Election Commission, NEC, has promised to announce the results today Thursday.
