A PDP presidential aspirant in the 2019 election has described All Progressives Congress (APC) led by President Muhammad Buhari as a government that lacks the power to unite Nigerians because they are amateur politicians.
Speaking in Umuahia, Abia State capital when his Lamido Campaign Council visited Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu and the leadership of PDP, the former Governor of Jigawa State and foreign minister in Obasanjo Government said that "The APC led Government has no capacity to keep Nigeria united. They are people who are actually learning governance on the job and they are making dangerous mistakes. This is not in our best interest. They are amateurs."
In a related development former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Speaker Ghali Na'Abba have expressed disappointment over APC led government of PMB.
Obasanjo who ruled Nigeria for eight years under the platform of PDP in a democratic system, remarked in a press statement, "The lice of poor performance in government - poverty, insecurity, poor economic management, nepotism, gross dereliction of duty, condonation of misdeed,-if not outright encouragement of it, lack of progress and hope for the future, lack of national cohesion and poor management of internal political dynamics and widening inequality - are very much with us today."
In his own view, former speaker Ghali Na'Nabba disclosed that President Buhari ,"Has not added even an inch of value to democracy. "
According to him, "From his (Buhari's) utterances, I believed he wanted to improve democracy. This is three years into his administration
he doesn't work with the party. He regards party members as evil, he doesn't consult anybody in the party. There is no way I can support him. Nigerians are in serious trouble."
Na'Abba who is a member of the board of APC explained that he left PDP for APC in order to support Buhari, but said that he is now disappointed with the outcome. He distances himself from endorsing Buhari for a second term.
