Christians have been advised to ask anything from God as a sons and daughters of God and not as His servants.
Speaking during South West 4 District Prayer Summit of Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship International, FGBMFI, held at the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria, NAPTIN, Lagos, Dr. Nelson Bushel of Life Gate Ministries International, Lagos, enjoined Christians to ask God as His son Jesus Christ Who is a brother to faithful Christians.
" Take your eyes off your your troubles, your needs and focus on God. Your value of God, your estimation of God will determine what you will ask Him. Ask not according to the size of needs, problems but according to your understanding of God. Jesus came to give to us and not to take from us," he explained.
The guest speaker, reading from Psalm 2 verse 8, explained that God asks us to invite Him into our situations for He is not an 'intruder' but intervenes in our affairs. " Jesus says, 'I stand at the door knocking, whoever invites me, I will come and dine with him or her.' So all of us are qualified to invite Him but we must have faith in Him.
"My confidence is not on my faith but on the character of God. God cannot lie. His character is generous. I know that it is human to be need conscious, to be need minded, but if you cannot pray out the problems, pray in the promises of God. No matter how far your enemy has gone God can reverse the situation."
Dr. Bushel appreciated the host Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International for inviting him. He disclosed that while in the university he heard of many Christian bodies including Full Gospel. Dr. Bushel remarked that most of them were no more but Full Gospel has remained vibrant. The senior pastor in Life Gate Ministries International, Lagos, who gave his life to Jesus 40 years ago, disclosed that it was his second time of speaking in Full Gospel program. The first one, according to him was in 1992.
The prayer summit was the first to be held this year by the District. Among those that attended included the DC, Clifford Onyeje, ND, Engr. Ebere Uwadoka; Engr. Emma Odega, Barr. Emeka Offiah, Dr. Menakaya and Obiora Ezekwesili.
