The opposition party in Nigeria, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has accused President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government of hijacking the functions of the leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement, the national publicity secretary of PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan said that it was ludicrous that after almost three years of failure on its least campaign promises, the Buhari led Government was moving around looking for those to use once again to deceive Nigerians ahead of the forthcoming 2019 general elections.
The opposition party was reacting to the appointment by the Presidency of Bola Tinubu, former Lagos State Governor, to lead a reconciliation team of All Progressives Congress,APC. PDP described the action as a panick move, adding that it found the attempt to reconcile APC's dwindling ranks as laughable, cosmetic and politically inconquential.
PDP claimed in the statement that, "There is wide spread disenchantment and indignation across the nation resulting from hunger and the inability of the Buhari Presidency to provide the people with basic necessities of life, which they had always enjoyed in the past.
" Nigerians are therefore waiting to see how Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who has also openly expressed his concerns and disapprovals on the mismanagement  of the economy and whose large constituents are direct victims of the ineptitude, impunity, nepotism and insecurity that has characterized the Buhari Presidency, will now turn around to preach that all is well and attempt to sell a practically bad product to the nation".
The opposition party therefore stressed that the Buhari Presidency has failed to be remorseful for its misrule, noting that the disagreements in their party were fallouts of members' resentment towards its desperation for power.
