IPOB: LT-GEN. TUKUR BURATAI HAS A CASE TO ANSWER -ICC

The International Criminal Court (ICC), at Hague has listed the Nigerian Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai as among those to be investigated for roles in the Nigerian Army alleged unlawful invasion of Afara Ukwu community in Umuahia, Abia State.
The Nigerian Army during show of force tagged " Operation Python Dance 2, was said to have invaded the home town of Nnamdi Kalu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB) in a bid to arrest the IPOB leader during the operation that took place in September, 2017.
The office of the ICC prosecutor stated this in a response to the petition filed by a Nigerian journalist, Mr. Ahaoma Kanu, alleging that there was killing of several unarmed members of IPOB.
The journalist's letter with reference number OTP-CR-413/17, dated March 20, 2018, was said to be the second response by the court to the petition, confirmed that the military invasion and deaths recorded were already under preliminary examination by the office of the prosecutor.
