PG ABAGANA GETS GOVT.'S LETTER OF RECOGNITION

The President General of Abagana Welfare Union worldwide Sir Ikem Remigus Onwuadi has received letter of recognition from Anambra State Government.
In a letter referenced OSPA/LG/CM/165/T2/2/, dated 2nd May, 2017, and signed by Barr. Mrs Vera Ebele Okonkwo who is the Special Adviser to Gov. Willie Obiano on Chieftaincy Affairs, the State Government stated that Sir Ikem Remigus Onwuadi is hereby certified bonafide President General recognized by Anambra State Government with effect from 30th December, 2017 being the date election.
Part of the letter reads thus: "Following the conduct of successful election of the office of President General of Abagana Welfare Union by the community on 30th December 2017, at Synod Hall St. Peter's Anglican Church, Abagana, I hereby certify that the under listed officer (Sir Ikem Remigus Onwuadi) is the bonafide President General recognized by Anambra State Government".
The letter was copied to concerned bodies like Association of Anambra Town Unions (ASATU), Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Special Adviser to the State Government on Security Matters; the Traditional Ruler of Abagana HRM Obi Patrick Mbamalu Okeke, Igwe Abagana; the DPO and the SSS in Njikoka LGA; Secretary to JAAC, Government House, Awka, among others.
The letter however stated that, "... election of other executive members shall be conducted soon to fill vacant positions in Abagana Welfare Union". It remarked that tenure of office is three years with effect from 30th December, 2017 and will expire on 30th December, 2021.
With this development, the confusion over who was the authentic and current President General of Abagana Welfare Union worldwide has been cleared and the nerves of those warming up to feed fat from real and imaginary crisis is now calmed.
