NJIKOKA 2 ANAMBRA HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY: CONTROVERSY TRAILS HON. IBIDA'S 2nd TENURE BID

The aspirations of Dr. Pete Ibida, the Honourable member of Anambra State House of Assembly representing Njikoka 2 Constituency in the House have been marred in a deep controversy.
The controversy is that it was agreed by Umuowelle Clan that each of the three towns that made up the Clan would be rotating their representatives in the State's House of Assembly.
It was on this platform that Hon. Frank Anthony Igboka from Nimo went only for one tenure. So were Hon. Lilian Ify Okosi from Abagana and Hon. Ify Onyebumuo from Abba. Each of them went only for once.
In 2015, Hon. Dr. Pete Ibida was elected to toe the line. Contrary to the established tradition, Hon. Dr. Ibida is warming up for a second term at the expense of Abagana whose turn it is to produce the successor to Hon. Dr. Ibida. He is alleged to be goaded to go against the grain even by some eminent Abagana indigenes.
Recently, the Honourable member paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Igwe Patrick Mbamalu Okeke, Obi IV and Igwe of Abagana.
In the gathering at the Palace of Igwe Mbamalu Okeke were such personalities like Hon. Sir Frank Igboka - President General of Nimo town, Chief Sir Linus Okafor Okunwa - former Secretary of Abagana Welfare Union, Engr. Willy Akpu - CEO, Stanwill Engineering Ltd, Hon. Chinedu Anaekwe from Abagana (Special Adviser to Gov. Obiano on Agriculture), Hon. Fred Nwafor - from Abba (Special Adviser to Gov. Obiano on Community Liaison, Barr. Nweke - Special Adviser to Gov. Obiano on Agriculture, Hon. Chukwuma Omile from Nimo ( Special Adviser to Gov. Obiano on Project Monitoring and Secretary of APGA in Njikoka LGA, Engr. Augustine Amaliko - Special Adviser to Gov. Obiano on Community Liaison and the Chairman of Umuowelle wards, together with all the transition members of Umuowelle in Njikoka 2 Constituency.
It was in this gathering that Hon. Dr. Pete Ibida who has the title of Ugwumba Abagana town, officially declared his intention to run for a second term.
Hon. Fred Nwafor who spoke on behalf of others in the entourage, made it clean and clear that Hon. Ibida was doing well and as such have jointly been given the mandate by Abagana, Abba and Nimo to run again.
Others who spoke praised and commence Hon. Ibida for his alleged excellent works adding that he performed creditably well and needed to be reelected.
The above were the views of Hon. Frank Igboka, Hon. Philip Egungwu, Chief Sir Linus Okafor Okunwa. The latter spoke against the zoning among Umuowelle and condemned vehemently the alleged agreement letter on zoning circulating online presumed to be by Abagana Welfare Union, which he said was an act of ignorance since it was signed by one person.
In his own speech, Igwe Mbamalu Okeke allegedly told Hon. Ibida to disregard the letters purportedly said to have emanated from Abagana Welfare Union (A.W.Union) as it held no water. He declared that everyone was free to contest irrespective of town he or she came from. He denied hearing anything about zoning in Umuowelle. Igwe Okeke therefore pointed out that if zoning was needed, it would be written, signed and sealed by Umuowelle people.
