President Muhammadu Buhari has failed in his duty to protect Nigerians.
This was the view of Prof. Kingsley Chiedu Moghalu as he reacted to Buhari's request on Nigerians to pray following the killings in Plateau State where about 200 lives were alleged to have lost and 50 houses burnt.
Writing on his Face Book handle, Prof. Moghalu accused President Buhari of shirking his responsibilities.
"We elected him to be an effective President and not to be a prayer warrior."
As an aspirant warming up to succeed Buhari in 2019 elections, the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) deputy governor disclosed that if elected, "I will overhaul the security architecture (in the country) based on professionalism and not on parochial considerations as is the case today.
" (I will) tighten our porous borders with Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Benin, recruit and train a professional police force of 1.5 million men and women," he assured.
Kingsley Chiedu Moghalu, political economist, lawyer and former United Nations official, is a Professor of Practice in International Business and Public Policy at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Turfs University. He is the Founder of Sogato Strategies LLC, an emerging markets for risk, strategy and macroeconomic advisory firm.
